Hi! I'm Apratim Mukherjee, a Robotics Grad Student.

I'm Apratim, a first year Master's student at Worcester Polytechnic Institute where I study Robotics Engineering! I graduated with a Bachelor's in Computer Science and Engineering from Manipal Institute Technology, Manipal, in 2020 and started my Master's in Fall 2021. I'm part of NEST Lab at WPI, where I'm advised by Prof. Carlo Pinciroli. Currently, I'm working at Tesla as a Gateway Firmware Intern in Palo Alto, California.

Before this, I worked at the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore, as a Project Assistant at the Artificial Intelligence and Robotics Lab under the supervision of Prof. Suresh Sundaram from July 2020 to July 2021. I spent my final undergrad semester as a Research Intern at the Energy Research Institute at Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore, from Feb. 2020 to July 2020. I also interned at WPI after my junior year under the guidance of Prof. Emmanuel Agu, from June 2019 to August 2019.

My decision to pursue a career in academia was solidified when I joined Project MANAS, my undergraduate AI Robotics team, where I mostly worked on perception and localization problems for autonomous vehicles. I was part of the team that won IGVC 2019 and placed 9th in IGVC 2018 among 25+ teams. We were also declared joint winners of the Mahindra Rise Prize Challenge among 153 teams, where the goal was to build a self driving car specifically catered to Indian conditions.
